- 27-Dec-2011: India's flamboyant opener Virender Sehwag completed 8000 Test runs when he took a single off Peter Siddle-delivery on Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in Melbourne.
- 08-Dec-2011: Virender Sehwag (219) became the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to make a double century in ODIs in the 4th ODI against the West Indies in Indore.
- Virender Sehwag, the sixth Indian to get 8000 ODI runs, is the only batsman in world cricket to achieve the milestone with a strike rate of over 100.
- Virender Sehwag became the seventh batsman in ODIs to hit 1000 boundaries during the sixth tri-series match against New Zealand. The record of hitting the most number of ODI boundaries is held by Sachin Tendulkar who has 1927 boundaries so far.
- March 29, 2004: Batting on 295 in the Multan Test, Sehwag charged down the pitch to Saqlain Mushtaq and muscled the ball over cow-corner for a six. He is first batsmen complete his triple hundred with six. It was India's first triple hundred in Tests, and set up their first Test win in Pakistan.
