Belgaum-born Deepak Chougule is an exciting batsman. The pocket-size run machine from Karnataka gave ample evidence of his talent right from through his formative years. Playing his first match for the Karnataka Under-13 side against Goa at Chennai, he smashed an unbeaten 400 in a single day a world record. His batting is compared that of G R Vishwanath, one of India's batting greats. Having represented India at the Under-19 team at the World Cup held in New Zealand, the 27-year-old will represent Kochi Tuskers Kerala in IPL 2011.
