He has emulated Javagal Srinath's tally of 18 (ave.11.16) in seven games against New Zealand in 2002-03. His series aggregate is a record by a spinner in a bilateral series in ODIs, obliterating Ajantha Mendis's 15 (ave.8.60) in five ODIs against Zimbabwe in 2008-09.
- Amit Mishra, with his five-wicket haul (5/71) against Australia during the Mohali Test, has become the sixth Indian bowler to claim five wickets in debut innings.
